• Like many people, I was unsure of chiropractic care. I had previously seen a chiropractor in Edina when I was in severe neck pain. I ran into Dr. Erik at the Irish Fair almost 2 years ago. I was having extreme pain in my hips which at times was so bad I couldn't walk. I was 28 at the time. Dr. Erik is not only an excellent chiropractor, but he also genuinely cares about his patients. I do not have insurance, and have been in school full time. Dr. Erik's office will work with your budget to make his treatment possible for you to afford. I tell all my friends that they should see him! After seeing him for almost 2 years, I am living life pain free. I used to think that chiropractors just wanted you to keep coming because they wanted more of your money. I now understand that it is like having braces. If you take them off too soon, your teeth will go back. If you neglect to wear your retainer, your teeth will go back. Dr. Erik starts you out going several times a week, after progress is shown he will reduce the frequency. I always look forward to seeing Dr. Erik and his friendly staff members. • I've only been in for two visits to Dr. Erik so far. He is obviously very passionate about what he does . . . to the point where I felt a little intimidated at first. So far, it has been completely different from any chiropractor I've ever been to . . . and I've been to three. He is concerned about more than just treating the pain. He wants to make sure that you are well-educated on how subluxation can affect your health and is clear about his goals for treatment. What I think I've enjoyed most about Dr. Erik so far is his consideration. When you go to a chiropractor, they need to touch you in a lot of places where you're not used to being touched, including some semi-awkward spots. Dr. Erik was very clear in stating that if I ever felt uncomfortable with where he was touching me to let him know, and he would stop. I've never had a chiropractor acknowledge that the adjustments might be especially uncomfortable for someone with a large bubble of personal space and I deeply appreciated the acknowledgement. It made me feel more at ease with being adjusted by a man. I actually feel excited about my appointments and treatment at Genesis.
